lab'eau drinKraantjeswater

The first lab'eau took place on the 7th of April 2010 at Z33 in Hasselt.

The six designers who compete for the sustainable water carafe for the drinKraantjeswater campaign were invited to follow a workshop.
In the morning they got to know where our water comes from, what it contains, how it gets drinkable, the battle between bottle and tap,... That first, instructive part was taken care of by Paula Thoelen from VMW, Olivier Sauwens from BBL and Veerle Verbakel from REcentre.
In the afternoon we invited several experts in the fields of communication, materials, sustainability, architecture, filosophy,...to brainstorm together with the designers about the sustainable water carafe or other water carriers and about the best way how to get the message of 'drinking tap water instead of bottled water' across to the consumers by design. This workshop was led by Thomas Lommée from Open Structures.
