Consumers & Sustainability

18.10.10 - 28.02.11

REcentre wants to raise consciousness of sustainability and help companies and designers to give value to their efforts and improvements. REcentre therefore initiated, funded and supervised a market survey on the consumers’ perception of sustainability within the Meuse-Rhine Euregion.

Recentre’s hypothesis is that the sustainable aspects of products and services positively influence the consumer's behavior. And if the consumer is willing to modify his purchasing habits to value these aspects, it will consequently be one more reason for companies and designers to include sustainable criteria in their products and productions processes.

The rearch objectives were: to size and describe the addressable market for sustainable design for durable goods and to find levers and arguments to accelerate uptake for sustainable design for durable goods.

The study is conducted by: REcentre, HEC Consulting Group, C-Change and Burat.

The results of this survey, including statistically consistent analyses are published in January 2011.
