Euregional schools tour with Luigi Ferrara

As Luigi Ferrara, director of the Institute without Boundaries, puts it: “Our aim is to produce graduates who, in the words of Buckminster Fuller, are ‘a synthesis of artist, inventor, mechanic, objective economist, and evolutionary strategist.’ To do so, we need to eliminate boundaries between design and other professions, and between designers and the local and global constituents they serve.
Sustainability at School 2010-2011

REcentre repeated the school projects around new, relevant, and sustainable themes.
In order to generate more economic and market feasible results, the projects were about real questions from real companies.
In collaboration with external organizations, REcentre wanted to expand the themes, the focus remaining on sustainable challenges relevant to the region.
Sustainability at School 2009-2010

REcentre propeled a variety of projects in collaboration with teachers and design students from St. Luc Liège - ABK Maastricht - Gut Rosenberg Aachen - Provinciale Hogeschool Limburg Dpt. Arts & Architecture - KHLim Media & Design Academie.
For the 2009-2010 edition of Sustainability at School, the participating design schools had collaborated on 3 different themes:
Design Competition water carafe

Six Euregional designers were assigned to design a sustainable water carafe. REcentre selected the experienced designers, brought in extra expertise on sustainable design and on water.
On the 10th of June 2010 a jury of professionals and experts judged the closed design competition.
